We love you Sydney!

If you've been here for a while, you'll know Esperance & Co is a family business, located on the Northern Beaches in Sydney. We've lived and worked in this beautiful part of the world for a number of years now, and feel extremely grateful to be surrounded by beautiful nature every day.

Right now, Sydney (and the rest of the world!) is experiencing turbulent and unpredictable times, which can be a challenge for many.

We've put together a list of our favourite things to do in Sydney. We hope they bring you a sense of hope, that once things return to normal you will be able to experience these lovely activities too, located right in our backyard.

Dee Why to Freshwater Beach walk:
This lovely nature walk begins at the top of Dee Why Rockpool and ends at Freshwater Beach. Immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the beautiful coastal view across the headland as you make your way to Freshwater Beach. Take a moment at Tea Tree lookout to enjoy the view of Curl Curl Beach, and if you're lucky, you might even see some whales!

North Head lookout:
Tucked behind Manly, North Head is another stunning Sydney lookout with the potential for whale watching! Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Sydney Harbour and the skyline, with an opportunity to watch a beautiful sunset too! No need to worry if you don't live this side of the bridge, you can catch a relaxing ferry ride into Manly from Circular Quay.

Charlie's Newport:
Just a few minutes from the beach in Newport, Charli's is a lovely breakfast spot, with great coffee and fantastic customer service. We highly recommend the eggs Florentine with a side of smoked salmon. Their chocolate thick shake is also a winner - a wonderful post-swim or surf brunch! Charli's is also dog-friendly, so the whole family can come along!

Barangaroo:
Boasting a range of fine-dining restaurants, Barangaroo is the ultimate spot if you're looking for somewhere nice to have a meal. Enjoy a cocktail or two at Barangaroo House before heading to one of the outstanding restaurants for lunch or dinner. The Barangaroo Precinct is particularly lovely in the warmer months, as the indoor-outdoor setup allows maximum enjoyment of a true balmy Aussie summer evening.

Mrs Macquarie's Chair Walk:
A stunning photo opportunity not to be missed, Mrs Macquarie's Chair is an iconic Sydney landmark located in the Botanic Gardens Domain. You can access Mrs Macquarie's Chair by beginning a walk at the Opera House, and making your way around. The 'chair' was carved out of rock for Government Macquarie's wife, who would enjoy the harbour views from this place. Take this opportunity at Mrs Macquarie's Chair to soak up the sun, feel the breeze on your face and appreciate how amazing the City of Sydney truly is!

Bourke St Bakery:
The iconic Sydney bakery, famous for artisanal breads, amazing coffee and pastries and cakes that are to die for! From a small shop in Surry Hills, Bourke St bakery now has locations across the city, at all of which a flat white and piece of sourdough toast are highly recommended by us! We would also take a couple of pastries home... if we were you!

Bilgola Lookout walk:
Park your car at Newport Beach carpark, and make your way to the north end of the beach where the track starts. Take in the lovely ocean views and walk along the track all the way to Bilgola Beach. The Serpentine is a bit hilly on the way up, but the reward of reaching the top is the stunning Bilgola lookout, which is simply spectacular. If you're feeling a little peckish or need a caffeine hit along the way, Zubi at Billy's is conveniently located right on Bilgola Beach!

Observatory Hill:
Treat yourself to a picnic at Observatory Hill, whilst enjoying stunning views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge! Pack a good book, kick back and relax in the sunshine, just a ten minute walk from Circular Quay and Wynyard. Observatory Hill is the place to take guests if you really want to impress them, so when the city is ready to welcome visitors back to Sydney, we know we'll be doing just that!

Llankelly Place, Kings Cross:
Looking for a cup of outstanding coffee? You'll be spoilt for choice in Llankelly Place in Kings Cross! If you're a Potts Point local, you'd no doubt have tried a few of the cafes that line the street, or perhaps you even have a favourite! Pickup a takeaway cuppa and pastry to enjoy whilst strolling the area, or take a chair and soak in the wonderful atmosphere!

We love you Sydney! We can't wait to see our beautiful city return to the bustling, busy and vibrant place we all know and love.
